Ltd., based in Sydney, Australia (and trading as Lighthouse Aesthetics) is a start-up company that has emerged from laser technology developments undertaken by an internationally renowned laser group at Macquarie University. The company has secured second round investment, dependent upon the recruitment of an industry-based, experienced, market-facing CEO. Lighthouse recently completed construction of initial versions of three different multi-wavelength lasers. All have dual infrared wavelength capability at 1064 and 1302 nm, while one prototype adds a 532 nm green wavelength, and another a 755 nm red. The devices all produce power levels at each wavelength equivalent to (or better than) the best commercially available single wavelength aesthetic lasers and are finding keen initial interest among the dermatology community in Australia and USA. Final preparations of the three prototypes for FDA/CE mark certification processes and early Key Opinion Leader evaluations are underway. First sales are anticipated later in 2007. Strategic partnering discussions for manufacture, marketing and distribution are in progress. An experienced start-up company CEO is sought to drive global market growth and to take this company though further rounds of financing. The successful applicant will have a tertiary physics or engineering background and be able to interact with the researchers who have developed the technology, and yet be highly capable of building strong business relationships across the global aesthetics / dermatology market.
