The New FDA Compliant At-Home Secret to Perfect Skin – Nulase

By: Joseph Christian, Certified Laser Technician and Ed Armamento, Chemical Engineer Professor

In the endless search for the fountain of youth, everyone is looking for the next skin care miracle. Visiting a trained technician to administer costly laser treatments has been the only option for improving skin’s condition…until now. Now you can get gorgeous, glowing skin without leaving the house or blowing the bank - introducing the NEW Soft Touch Laser by Nulase and Laser-Enhanced Skin Care.

Nulase is an exciting new alternative to cosmetic surgery, chemical peels, or Botox injections. Simple and easy to use, it stimulates the rejuvenation process in a natural, non-invasive way without redness or irritation. Nulase is a dermatologically inspired at-home laser system. When skin ages, collagen molecules break down due to a lack of nutrients and cellular energy which leads to the formation of fine lines, wrinkles, and skin imperfections. Nulase increases the regenerative power of your skin; new skin cells replace old ones, collagen begins to reproduce, your skin begins to tighten, tone, and rejuvenate.

The Soft Touch Laser by Nulase is a patent-pending technology which gently stimulates the rejuvenation and repair process for an enriching and dynamic effect. The Soft Touch Laser improves the condition of your skin for a beautiful, clear, more youthful looking complexion. The Soft Touch Laser by Nulase emits a safe and gentle laser light which oscillates in a uniform parallel wavelength targeting your skin cells.

How the Soft Touch Laser Works?
The positive energy from the sun is the source of all life on the Planet. The red spectrum light from the Soft Touch Laser has similar healing properties. As we age, skin cell function naturally slows, as do the processes which keep our skin youthful looking. The Soft Touch Laser has been designed to permeate the top layers of the skin, helping to speed up the cellular metabolic process which activates our skin cells to produce more cellular energy (ATP). ATP (adenosine triphosphate) is the fuel our skin cells use for repair and rejuvenation. Increased ATP and its release allows for a faster acceptance of nutrients in cells. Research has shown that laser therapy can increase cellular ATP by as much as 150%. Studies have shown that increased ATP boosts collagen levels, smoothes the skin’s appearance, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and activates a host of healing properties in the body.

See amazing results as the Soft Touch Laser by Nulase:
• Reduces the appearance of fine lines
• Improves the appearance of skin discoloration and hyper-pigmentation
• Diminishes the tendency towards blemishes
• Tightens and firms your skin
• Improves skin’s surface texture
• Reduces the appearance of stretch marks and scars
• Stimulates a natural and youthful skin tone
Laser-Enhanced Skin Care has been scientifically formulated to aid and enhance the effects of the Soft Touch Laser, assisting in the rejuvenation and repair process on a cellular level. Nulase scientifically formulated Laser-Enhanced Skin Care is a daily three step system. These exclusive formulations renew your skin’s outer layer and deliver restorative nutrients to the cellular level.
• Foaming Cleanser - to prepare your skin for the rejuvenation process: $19.00
• Microderm Exfoliator - to aid in the renewal process by stimulating faster cell turnover: $24.75
• Regenerating Moisturizer - formulated with a Patented Multi-Liposome Nano Technology to deliver a potent synergistic blend of 12 vitamins and extracts deep into the skin’s cellular layer, assisting in the rejuvenation process while enhancing the effects of the Soft Touch Laser: $34.50

The Soft Touch Laser and Laser-Enhanced Skin Care work together to create a dynamic reaction on a cellular level to restructure and repair the surface of your skin. Laser Technology and Topical Skin Care, a dynamic new concept in Anti-aging technology.

Plastic Surgeon Pioneers the PULL Technique A Revolutionary Technique in Body Contouring

By Steve Fallek, M.D.

One of the most difficult and highly visible areas of the body to lose fat and excess skin is the pubic area. In some cases, people are genetically predisposed to a sagging “pouch” in the pelvic. In other cases, due to pregnancy or extreme weight loss, the abdomen fails to return to its original shape. In an attempt to “fix” this area of the body, some people are hitting the gym, while others are turning to plastic surgery to achieve their desired look. While body contouring works well to eliminate many of the unsightly sags in the abdominal area, some patients have sagging skin in the pubic area as well. The excess skin—or pannus—which hangs down from the abdomen is not effectively treated with liposuction or a tummy tuck.

I have created my own technique for targeting sagging skin in the pubic area. I call this procedure PULL (Pubic Undermining Lift and Liposuction). It is a combination of skin and fat excision in the upper pubic area combined with liposuction of the lower pubic and surrounding areas. Two small incisions are made in the pubic area (near the bikini line). First, liposuction is done to remove excess fat in the area. Then the incision is enlarged, and the skin is lifted and pulled to create a smooth appearance. The excess skin is cut away, and the skin lines are closed.

The PULL procedure can be performed alone or in combination with a standard tummy tuck or a body lift. The procedure takes 1-2 hours, is done either in a hospital or “surgicenter,” and patients are generally sent home that same day. There is very little bruising afterwards, and most patients recover within a few days with almost no down time. The scar is easily hidden in the same crease as a standard tummy tuck. The scar itself extends only over the pubic area.
The PULL procedure is not just for weight loss patients. Many people are becoming self-conscious about sagging skin in the pubic area. But most significantly, the PULL technique is a safe and effective way to rejuvenate this area without resorting to genital surgery. With the emphasis on low-cut fashion, the PULL procedure may benefit these patients, as well.

Environ’s RAD Sunscreen - Skin Care in the 21st Century

By Dr. Des Fernandes

Since the middle of the 80’s, fair skinned people have been much more aware of the need to protect their skins against the harmful effects of too much sunlight. This is a very good principle, but there have been some very unsettling surprises. Logically we all tend to think that the higher the factor of the sunscreen, the better the protection against aging and skin cancer. It is even better if it is waterproof. Then we really do not have to worry too much. We think all of this must be true when we have been in the sun for a long time and escaped without burning. This will convince most of us that we have done all that is necessary to prevent damage to our skins and the eventual cancer. Unfortunately, the truth seems to be a little different.

Even though sunscreens absorb or reflect some of the energy of the damaging ultra-violet light of the sun, a fair amount still gets through into the skin. Over many years, even this mild exposure will cause damage to the layers of skin resulting in a thin, wrinkled skin, with dilated blood vessels, blotchy pigmented spots, and a frail, rough surface. Such a skin cannot easily resist injury or infection, and it develops skin cancer very easily. This is probably why British scientists found that even in places where people used sunscreens very faithfully, the numbers of skin cancers did not drop as much as would have been expected, a very odd fact. What could the reason be?

The truth is that skin cancer is caused by molecules known as free radicals causing damage to the genes of the cells. The DNA or genetic code is damaged. The irony of it all is that the most common and destructive free radical comes from oxygen. Man cannot live without it; but when ultraviolet light breaks the O2 molecule into two single molecules of oxygen, they do to DNA what the sea air does to our cars: Rust! Rust in a car is like cancer; it does not stop if neglected. It is the same in skin.
What then can possibly be done?

I have developed the idea of an “anti-rust” or, more accurately, anti-oxidant vitamins into Environ’s RAD sunscreen. Suddenly the free radicals can be neutralized before they have a chance to do damage. Clearly this completes the picture in proper prevention of skin cancer. Not only that, but aging will slow down, and damage caused by the sun will be minimized with proper use of the Environ RAD sunscreen.
All sunscreens need re-application if one spends a long time in the sun and definitely after swimming. The Americans are now so serious about this that the Food and Drug Administration is going to ban the word Waterproof on sunscreens. The word Waterproof actually prevents people from reapplying their sunscreens after swimming, a “fatal” mistake.

The obsession with using the highest factor of sunscreen is a logical one because the higher factor is automatically equated with better protection. The factor of a sunscreen merely refers to the length of time one will be able to tolerate the sun before burning, compared to the time without protection. It cannot in any way tell us how well it will protect us against cancer. In fact, it would appear that without sufficient anti-oxidant vitamins, it might even add to the risk of more skin cancer by encouraging us to stay in the sun longer.

So, by all means go out into our lovely climate, but play by the rules:
Between 11 & 3, duck under a tree.
Be sunwise, anti-oxidize!
Re-apply, re-apply and re-apply.

Diamond Dynamic WaveForm Therapy: A New “Wave” of Non-invasive Therapy

By George P. Liakeas, M.D.

No one likes to grow old gracefully, and the aging process can be merciless to the skin. Years of sun exposure and natural collagen loss make facial skin lose its plumpness and the body’s skin lose elasticity. Busy schedules, more stress, and the demands for maintaining a youthful appearance make the Diamond WaveForm Therapy a dream come true. Smooth Synergy, a full cosmedical spa in Manhattan, announces the addition of this innovative aesthetic technology where advanced wave forms put the face and body through a premium “workout.”

This breakthrough approach to reversing the signs of aging from the inside out uses four unique wave patterns which closely imitate the body’s own muscle messages within the face and body. Weight, bumpy lumpy contours, distended stomach, and cellulite are some of the more evident body problems. Sagging skin, poor color (especially around the eyes), acne, and enlarged pores are some of the problems which show in the face. These are just the apparent signs. However, internal clogging is the more serious problem which can be so detrimental to our overall health and well-being.

What is the Diamond Lift and Medilift?
The Diamond Lift and Medilift features four distinctive waveforms which stimulate the body’s own regenerating ability and, with the help of special sculpting wands, restore youthful looks to the face and body. The vibration from the waveforms helps your body disperse resistant fat, especially around the abdomen. Muscles become more defined, fat is melted away, skin is lifted, and the lymphatic drainage is increased; all through the aid of a safe, controlled electrical current.

How long does a treatment take?
Treatment times may vary anywhere between 20 and 90 minutes, depending on the mode and area being treated.

How many treatments are necessary?
The answer to this is based on several things, including the patient’s goal, the patient’s age, and the patient’s overall health and physical fitness. For the most part, you begin with a corrective series of two treatments per week for six weeks, totaling twelve treatments. More treatments may be required to reach a specific patient goal. After this goal is reached, a maintenance program is highly suggested (once a month is typically enough to sustain results).

Who is a good candidate for this treatment?
This ‘personal trainer’ is suitable for “every” body. It especially helps those who have become overweight, recently had a baby, are unable to exercise, are out of shape and have a hard time committing and have poor internal health.

When will I notice a change?
Most people will see an immediate change in the tone and texture of their skin; however, this will be a temporary effect. After the 4th or 5th treatment the patient will begin to see sustained changes. This follows the same principle of time spent exercising, as it takes cumulative efforts to notice a substantial change.
